Reportworq 6 release notes#

What each Reportworq 6 release delivers for you. The latest hotfix is shown first, then each official release, newest first.

Release notes by version#

Each official release keeps its own page, authored once and left unchanged. The current hotfix is cumulative on top of the latest official release:

• Current hotfix - cumulative changes on top of 6.0.0.3.
• 6.0.0.3 - the latest official release.
• 6.0.0.2 - the initial Reportworq 6 release.

Latest hotfix#

The current hotfix build contains every change below on top of the latest official release (6.0.0.3). Install the latest hotfix and you get all of it.

New#

• RW-1563 System administrators can now add a one-click ReportWORQ Content Store data source and report on jobs, schedules, run history and audit records across every workspace as read-only SQL, with nothing to configure and secrets never included.
• RW-1608 The ReportWORQ Content Store data source also exposes Reportworq's run and audit logs as relational tables you can report on.
• RW-1740 Each integration's configuration now lets an administrator choose which workspaces can use it.
• RW-1742 Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace credentials can now be shared across integrations or set up individually for each one.

Improvements#

• RW-1721 The Google Drive connector can now be set up with a one-screen OAuth sign-in that you register yourself, instead of pasting a service-account private key, and a delivery location is chosen in a folder browser or a single Location field.
• RW-1905 Google Drive integrations now ask one question, which configured credential to use, and the sign-in method follows from the credential you pick instead of a separate Service Account / OAuth toggle.
• RW-1744 The Security Audit Report now shows which integrations each workspace can use and the credentials they reference.
• RW-1834 Secret Rotation now has its own tab under Settings > Security, instead of sitting inside the Reportworq API configuration tab.
• RW-1798 Settings > Configuration > Web Server now shows the repository's full path, so it is always clear where Reportworq is storing its data.
• RW-1818 Settings > AI Prompts now shows a Close button in its header, consistent with every other Settings screen.

Fixes#

Reporting

• RW-1812 TM1ELLIST now accepts an element list without an alias argument, and a three-argument call no longer returns #VALUE!.
• RW-1816 VIEW, TM1USER and TM1SET now report #VALUE! for an invalid argument instead of leaving the cell blank.

Distribution and Data Collection

• RW-1869 Reportworq now connects to SMTP servers whose TLS certificate name does not exactly match the configured host, matching Reportworq 5 behavior, and reports the host and port when a connection test fails.
• RW-1900 Data Collection inbox monitoring can now be configured to accept a mail server's TLS certificate that does not validate, matching Reportworq 5 behavior.
• RW-1809 Discarding unsaved changes in the job editor's Distribution step now reverts every field on screen straight away, instead of showing the discarded text until the page is reloaded.

Integrations and credentials

• RW-1861 Deleting an integration and adding it back no longer fails with a "soft-deleted ... cannot be overwritten" error.
• RW-1897 Validating or testing a Microsoft 365 shared credential now checks that credential's own sign-in, so a signed-out credential no longer reports as valid.
• RW-1912 When a Google Workspace credential needs reconnecting, Google Drive's Test Connection now says so and explains how to fix it, instead of reporting a Microsoft 365 error.

Settings and administration

• RW-1822 Settings > Configuration now opens instantly, even when the repository holds large temporary files, and a large Excel add-in refresh no longer leaves an oversized diagnostic log behind.
• RW-1733 Long setting labels on several screens now display in full instead of being cut off with an ellipsis.
• RW-1795 The Security detail screens now scroll with the scrollbar at the right edge of the page instead of in the middle of the screen.

Timberline demo

• RW-1753 The Timberline demo system now ships with its Google Drive, OneDrive and SharePoint integrations unconfigured, so you connect your own accounts when you try them.
• RW-1850 The Timberline demo now ships with corrected Board Pack Market and Sales Rep Scorecard workbooks, and lists only the Email and Network Folder integrations you can use without extra setup.
• RW-1755 The Timberline demo system now records and displays its full repository path in Settings > Configuration > Web Server.

This hotfix also includes a set of smaller fixes across the shared-credential screens (the Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace credential pickers, the Data Collection mailbox settings, and Teams and Office 365 SMTP sending), the Settings > Configuration > Authentication screen, and OAuth token handling.

Upgrade notes#

• RW-1729 The Windows installer and patch download are now named Reportworq_Installer.exe and Reportworq_Patch_<version>.zip. Update any script that downloads them by filename.
• RW-1756 On Linux tarball installs, the repository location and web port you set in Reportworq now stay set across restarts and upgrades. The RW_* variables in the service's environment file are now opt-in overrides rather than the source of those values, so an operator who relied on that file should read the updated install guide.
