Hands-on Lab#

A guided course. Start with an empty server, install and configure Reportworq, then build the Timberline reports one at a time, with the reason for every step alongside the step itself.

Install and first run#

• Lab 1: Install Reportworq on Windows - Download the installer with your license key, run it on a Windows server, confirm the Reportworq 6 Bootstrap Service is running, and set the service account that decides which folders your jobs can reach.
• Lab 2: First-run setup and licensing - Work through the first-run wizard on the server Lab 1 built, set up the Timberline demo system in one click, apply your license key, and sign in for the first time as the administrator.

Finding your way around#

• Lab 3: Find your way around Reportworq - A guided tour of the Reportworq shell, covering the left rail, the top bar and the workspace browser, so that every later lab can name a control once and expect you to find it.

Your first report#

• Lab 4: Your first report - Build your first Reportworq report from a Timberline workbook, one Financial Statements pack per market in Excel and PDF, emailed with a dynamic recipient, subject and message, and prove it in the Test step before anything is sent.
• Lab 5: A sheet per value - Take a copy of the Lab 4 report and make every statement repeat once per year inside each market's pack, with the parameters mapped on each tab, sheet names that tell the copies apart, Group & collate to rearrange the pages by year, and a PDF bookmark heading per year.
