Reportworq 6.0.0.3#
The first official Reportworq 6 release to ship with release notes. Everything below shipped in this release.
Highlights by area - the short version. Expand All changes below for the full list with issue references.
- Connectors & data sources - New QuickBooks Online and Workday Financials connectors, plus a guided field-based Snowflake setup. CData-based sources (HubSpot and others) now connect cleanly from Linux and Docker, and cloud sign-ins complete on servers with no local browser.
- IBM Planning Analytics - Dynamic reports, active forms, and job execution now work against Planning Analytics v12 and PAaaS, including a native Turbo Integrator sample (no PowerShell) and clearer "IBM SaaS (MCSP)" labeling; a spurious MEMBER_NAME warning is gone.
- Report authoring & output - PDF bookmarks are configured in one place on the Reports screen, with multi-level, multi-section trees; a single job parameter can fill several cells at once; and grouped reports no longer shift cells with a stray blank row.
- Contribution input forms - Forms render accurately - correct row heights, frozen labels, merged headers, and print areas - and a recalled form is immediately editable again, with the right status and an accurate "My Input Forms" badge.
- Distribution & scheduled jobs - Hosted AI Insights, custom workspace fonts, and burst-set recipients now carry through scheduled and distributed jobs, and SharePoint/OneDrive source reads retry transient network errors instead of failing the run.
- Security & administration - Rotate stored secrets through a secure, audited API; add users and switch authentication providers without setup-wizard detours; keep application logs for the full retention you configure; and the reader-visibility toggle now reads the right way round.
- Deployment & platform - Upgrade or downgrade Docker deployments from the Software Versions screen, source custom fonts and reports from built-in workspace file storage, migrate a Reportworq 5 repository reliably, and open the version 6 documentation from in-app Help.
All changes, with issue references
New#
- RW-1671 Connectors You can now connect to Workday Financials data, alongside the existing Workday Adaptive Planning connection.
- RW-1621 Reporting A worksheet's PDF bookmark position is now set in one place on the Reports screen - Level 1, Level 2, and Sheet Name, each able to do nothing, use literal text, or read a cell - replacing the separate PDF Custom Title and Parent Bookmark settings.
- RW-1620 Reporting The =RW.Tools.SheetName() formula now accepts up to three arguments to set a worksheet's PDF bookmark levels, and a PDF's bookmark tree can now have multiple top-level sections.
- RW-1587 Connectors A QuickBooks Online data connector is now available.
- RW-1499 Deployment Workspace file storage is now a built-in source report provider you can manage from Integrations, and custom fonts for rendered reports can be sourced from any file provider.
- RW-855 Security & Admin Rotate the passwords, API keys, and other secrets stored in Reportworq straight from CyberArk or any credential-rotation tool through a secure, audited API, with no manual re-entry.
- RW-729 Reporting You can now place the same job parameter in more than one location on a worksheet, so a single parameter can fill several fields at once.
Improvements#
- RW-1647 Connectors Adding a Snowflake data source now opens a guided, field-based connection screen (account, warehouse, database, schema, key-pair authentication) instead of a raw connection string.
- RW-1578 Distribution The Contacts (Address Book) screen now stays responsive with large contact lists, loading only the rows on screen instead of every contact at once.
- RW-1551 Deployment Docker deployments can now upgrade or downgrade Reportworq from the Software Versions screen, and container-supplied boot settings (repository path, web port, HTTPS) are shown read-only so they cannot be changed by mistake.
- RW-1534 Reporting The Edit Timestamp panel now lets you pick a common date or time format from a previewed list, or build your own from labeled tokens, so you see the result instead of memorizing format codes.
- RW-1519 Deployment The End User License Agreement is now bundled with Reportworq and always opens from the acceptance screen, including on air-gapped and offline on-premises installations.
- RW-1503 Planning Analytics Dynamic reports and active forms now work against Planning Analytics v12, which enforces stricter MDX member-name qualification.
- RW-1497 Security & Admin The Workspaces and Entitlements security lists now read clearly when access is granted to all users - a workspace shared with everyone shows "All Users" instead of appearing empty.
- RW-1451 Planning Analytics IBM Planning Analytics connections now label the MCSP SaaS authentication type "IBM SaaS (MCSP)" (previously "AWS Cloud (MCSP)"), reflecting that it is available beyond AWS.
- RW-1431 Reporting The Repository Report now documents every workspace in a single workbook, with a column showing which workspace each item belongs to.
- RW-928 Security & Admin First-time sign-in is smoother - the create-password screen arrives pre-filled and takes you straight into your workspace once you set your password.
- RW-815 Planning Analytics Running Reportworq jobs from IBM Planning Analytics now works on v12 and PAaaS through a native Turbo Integrator sample (no PowerShell required), and you can choose exactly which REST API samples to install on each server.
- RW-805 Reporting Long dropdown lists stay fast and easy to use: a search box appears once a list passes about 20 items, and very long lists (200+) scroll smoothly instead of freezing.
Fixes#
- RW-1679 Reporting A report no longer fails entirely when a source workbook has incomplete Planning Analytics Quick Report cache data - the affected Quick Report is skipped with a warning and the rest of the report still runs.
- RW-1661 Connectors HubSpot and other CData data sources now connect successfully from Linux and Docker deployments, resolving a "server certificate verification failed" error.
- RW-1660 Deployment In-app Help buttons throughout Reportworq now open the correct version 6 documentation pages instead of the archived version 5 site.
- RW-1657 Deployment The pre-login Administration Settings recovery screen no longer crashes on a brand-new installation before any workspace has been created.
- RW-1644 Deployment The Reportworq 5 import now migrates your repository even when you leave the new repository location at its default, instead of completing instantly with nothing imported.
- RW-1642 Reporting Worksheet Sheet Name and PDF bookmark fields now correctly save the text or cell reference you enter, instead of silently discarding typed values.
- RW-1635 Security & Admin Application log files are now kept for the full retention period you configure, instead of being capped at about 31 files (a few days on busy servers).
- RW-1631 Distribution Scheduled reports that read source files from SharePoint or OneDrive now retry transient network errors automatically instead of failing the run.
- RW-1628 Contribution The Login URL in contribution campaign notification emails now arrives as a clickable link, and a system administrator can reset a repository's notification templates to the latest built-in defaults.
- RW-1618 Connectors QuickBooks Online sign-in now completes end to end on a server without a local browser, and the QuickBooks company is captured automatically.
- RW-1616 Distribution Custom fields added to an address-book contact that is linked to a user account now persist instead of vanishing.
- RW-1615 Connectors Signing in to QuickBooks Online - and other CData cloud connectors - now works from a server-hosted Reportworq instead of failing at the Authenticate step.
- RW-1611 Contribution Merged titles and headers on the contribution grid no longer render one column too narrow.
- RW-1609 Contribution Contribution input forms with hidden leading columns now render their frozen row labels and freeze panes correctly.
- RW-1603 Contribution Contribution input forms whose print area begins before the first visible cell now render and scroll correctly.
- RW-1584 Security & Admin The reader-visibility toggle now reads the right way round: on means visible to readers, off means hidden.
- RW-1576 Planning Analytics Reports that display element names with MEMBER_NAME no longer log a false "invalid dimension attribute" warning.
- RW-1572 Security & Admin MCP download audit logs now record when a report was retrieved during an admin test-impersonation ("act as user") session, so retrievals are not misattributed to the impersonated user.
- RW-1565 Contribution The "My Input Forms" badge now counts only forms that still need your action, so submitted and approved forms no longer inflate the count.
- RW-1554 Connectors The Oracle Smart View connector now shows its icon in the Integrations list on Linux deployments.
- RW-1550 Deployment Fixed a rare cold-boot race where restarting the server could reset the Web App Host and other settings in settings.json, which could break load-balanced clusters until corrected by hand.
- RW-1548 Contribution After a contributor recalls a submitted form, its status now correctly reads "In Progress" instead of "Not Started."
- RW-1545 Security & Admin AI Agent Access connection details now let an agent act as the intended user, instead of the workspace embedded in the server URL overriding the "act as user" setting.
- RW-1544 Contribution Contribution forms are editable again immediately after a contributor recalls a submitted form.
- RW-1504 Distribution Custom workspace fonts now embed correctly in output produced by scheduled and distributed jobs, matching what already happened when running reports in the web app.
- RW-1491 Distribution Reportworq Hosted AI now works for AI Insights in scheduled and distributed jobs and the RWAIINSIGHT formula, with any skipped insight recorded in the job log so administrators can see why.
- RW-1488 Reporting Report parameter changes in the job editor now reliably update the Save button and Parameters step, so the job no longer refuses to save or hides a newly added parameter until you reopen the editor.
- RW-1477 Reporting Two-level (nested) grouping in reports no longer inserts an extra blank row that shifted cells and broke active-form formulas.
- RW-1469 Planning Analytics The TM1 REST API "Run Job" sample now writes a unique, timestamped log file for each run, so concurrent or repeated jobs no longer overwrite each other's log.
- RW-1468 Security & Admin Switching the active authentication provider on a configured, licensed instance no longer drops the administrator back into the first-boot setup wizard or re-prompts for the license key.
- RW-1467 Security & Admin The Settings > Security "New Account" dialog now opens fully - fields and buttons included - so administrators can add users through the UI again.
- RW-1464 Distribution Contacts assigned to a job's burst set are now carried with the job when you export and import it into another workspace, so recipient assignments no longer go missing.
- RW-1120 Contribution Contribution input forms now show each row at its correct height instead of nearly double, matching the workbook.
