Back, Forward, and shareable links#

Reportworq keeps the browser address bar in step with the screen you are on. That means the browser's own Back and Forward buttons work, any screen can be bookmarked or refreshed without losing your place, and you can share a link that opens a colleague on exactly the same screen. This is on by default; there is nothing to enable.

Move Back and Forward#

Use the browser Back and Forward buttons to step through the screens you have visited - the Workspace, Activity, Scheduled content, Settings sections, an open editor, and so on. An open editor is kept alive as you move, so stepping Back into a report you were editing keeps your unsaved changes.

When a dialog or a side panel is open, Back closes it first, rather than navigating the page underneath - so one press does what you expect.

Bookmark or refresh a screen#

Because the address bar tracks the current screen, you can:

• Bookmark a screen and return to it later - a Settings tab, a workspace folder, a report's run history, or the Job Editor at a particular step.
• Refresh the page and stay exactly where you were, instead of being sent back to the start.

Share a link to a screen#

Copy the address bar and paste it to a colleague. When they open it (in a fresh tab, even after a browser restart), it lands on the same surface - for example a folder in the workspace, a specific report's history, the Activity list filtered to failures, or a Settings tab. If the link points at something their account is not allowed to see, Reportworq opens their home screen instead of exposing it.

Open a folder in a new tab#

Breadcrumbs are real links. Middle-click or Ctrl-click (or ⌘-click) a breadcrumb to open that folder in a new browser tab; a plain click navigates in place as usual.

Notes and limits#

• This applies to the main Reportworq web application. It does not change how external integrations (the API or the MCP and Copilot surfaces) work, since those do not use the browser shell.
